FIFA Statutes Revision Committee to set ball rolling

Zürich, 11 October 2002 - The FIFA Statutes Revision Committee will meet for the first time in Zurich on Sunday 3 and Monday 4 November 2002. This committee, set up by the FIFA Executive Committee at its last meeting on 23-24 September, will be responsible for reviewing, amending and changing the existing FIFA Statutes. The work of the committee will continue into next year, and the revised Statutes will be submitted to the FIFA Congress in Qatar next October. The new Statutes will enter into force in 2004 to coincide with the FIFA centenary.

The Statutes Revision Committee will be chaired by Marcel Mathier (Switzerland) and include among its members a representative of each of the confederations: Mohamed Bin-Hammam (Qatar), Juan Angel Napout (Paraguay), Mohamed Raouraoua (Algeria), Alan Rothenberg (USA), Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (Germany), and Basil Scarsella (Australia).
