Iran clinch gold with win over Japan

Defending champions Iran won the Asian Games men's football title for the fourth time with a 2-1 victory over Japan on Sunday after second-half goals from Javad Kazemeyan and Mohsen Bayatiniya.

Kazemeyan pounced on a mix-up between Hikaru Mita and substitute Takeshi Aoki to rifle home a right-foot shot from the edge of the box three minutes into the second half at Pusan Main Asiad Stadium. It was his first goal of the tournament.

At its meeting at FIFA Headquarters in Zurich on 6 September 2002, the FIFA Appeal Committee discussed three appeals lodged against decisions previously taken by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee: 11.09.02
The FIFA Emergency Committee has decided to suspend the Tajikistan National Football Federation
The FIFA Emergency Committee has decided to suspend the Tajikistan National Football Federation (TNFF) . This suspension will apply until the situation returns to normal, according to the plan of action that will be defined by a FIFA/AFC delegation to visit this national association soon. 08.08.02
