To all members of the media
Visiting team preparation camp sites

Very important notice to all accredited media of the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan" regarding accreditation.

Regulations regarding access control for preparation camp sites of the final tournament has been clarified at the official team workshop held in Tokyo in February and has been officially approved by the FIFA World Cup Organising Committee thereafter.

The preparation camp site of each team will be an official tournament site from five (5) days prior to the first match of each team, and the official tournament accreditation card will be necessary to access the site.

We strongly recommend that you obtain your accreditation card upon your arrival in Korea or in Japan at the Main Accreditation Centre (MAC), which opens on Wednesday, 1 May.

As a special measure only in Japan, media accreditation will also be issued at a number of Venue Accreditation Centers (VACs) ONLY to those who are not able to stop by the MAC. Those who wish to pick up their accreditation at a VAC are kindly reminded that the pre-tournament period was originally planned to issue accreditation mainly to the LOC staff only so the VACs would not be fully staffed during this time. It may take more time for media accreditation to be issued, depending on the influx of people at the VAC. We therefore recommend that the media drop by the MAC to avoid a long waiting.

The list of the Main Accreditation Centre and the ten Venue Accreditation Centres in Japan, including their locations, opening period, and operating hours, is shown on the attached PDF file. (Information on the Accreditation Centres in Korea will be made available by KOWOC on their website.)

Please find below a list of the VACs in Japan that will be open during the pre-tournament period where the media will be able to obtain their accreditation.
