Zambia recall Tana for World Cup qualifier

LUSAKA, July 10 (Reuters) - Defender Elijah Tana, who has returned from trials in Mexico, has been included in Zambia's squad for Saturday's World Cup qualifier at home to Cameroon, officials said on Tuesday.

Coach Jan Brouwer has drafted Tana in to replace injured Charles Bwale in one of five changes from the squad that beat Lesotho in the quarter-finals of the regional Cosafa Castle Cup last month.

Brouwer said he would be using the match to prepare players for next year's African Nations Cup finals in Mali. Cameroon have already qualified for the World Cup finals, rendering the match in Lusaka of academic interest only. Zambia have seven points from six games in Group A, five behind second-placed Angola and 11 behind winners Cameroon.
