FIFA WORLD STARS VS. BRAZIL
14 JULY 1996
Giants Stadium, New York/New Jersey.

FIFA organised its traditional charity match between the 1994 World Cup Champions, Brazil, and a World Stars Team on Sunday July 14, 1996, at Giants Stadium in New Jersey.

Proceeds from the match went to the FIFA Youth Fund, of which the principal beneficiary is the SOS Children's Villages organisation, which cares for over 200,000 disadvantaged children in 125 countries worldwide. A special project, FIFA For SOS Children's Villages, was introduced last year on the initiative of FIFA President Dr. Joao Havelange.

The MLS All-Star teams were selected through a vote of league head and assistant coaches. The Conference leading coaches at the time of the ballot, Los Angeles' Lothar Osiander and the Mutiny's Thomas Rongen, will coach their respective conferences.
