LEEDS, England, Feb 8 (Reuters) - England's friendly international against Italy at Elland Road next month is a 40,000 sell-out with every ticket snapped up in just four hours, the club's official website reported on Friday.
The match in Leeds on March 27 is the second game of coach Sven Goran-Eriksson's warm-up campaign in preparation for this year's World Cup in Japan and South Korea, following next week's match in the Netherlands.
England play at Elland Road for the first time since a 3-3 draw with Sweden in 1995.
Leeds chairman Peter Ridsdale told the website: "I am delighted to hear this good news.
"It shows how the football fans of the region are determined to get behind England, who they will be privileged to see at Elland Road for the first time for a number of years."
