Injured Totti out for up to two months

ROME, Aug 5 (Reuters) - AS Roma captain Francesco Totti could be out for up to two months after injuring his left knee during a weekend friendly, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported on Monday.

The 25-year-old Italian international midfielder twisted his knee on Sunday, falling awkwardly as he tried to cross to team mate Vincenzo Montella.

"It's a small, isolated injury. There's no need to operate but it will take him 45 to 60 days to recover," the newspaper quoted club doctor Mario Brozzi as saying.

The injury is the latest in a string of unfortunate incidents for Totti, who was sent off in Italy's second round World Cup match against South Korea, and missed the run-in to the Serie A last season with a niggling thigh strain.

He is scheduled to have another medical examination later on Monday.

Roma, second behind Juventus last season, face newly-promoted Como when the new Serie A season kicks off on September 1.
