BERLIN, Oct 22 (Reuters) - Hanover 96 striker Fredi Bobic could make it back to the national team if he maintains his early-season form, Germany coach Rudi Voeller said.
"His scoring rate is fantastic," Voeller said of the 30-year-old Bobic, who has scored six goals in five Bundesliga games for his new club. "A striker who scores that many goals is always an option."
Bobic, who scored twice in 19 internationals but who has not played for his country since 1998, joined promoted Hanover 96 from German champions Borussia Dortmund last month after a loan to English premier league side Bolton Wanderers.
"I met Fredi in Hanover and I told him that if he kept scoring, he would be back with us," Voeller told the Bild daily.
Voeller also named three young strikers, Kevin Kuranyi from VfB Stuttgart, TSV 1860 Munich's Benjamin Lauth and Jermaine Jones from second division Eintracht Frankfurt, as possible German internationals in the near future.
The FIFA World Cup" runners-up, whose attack has looked jaded in recent outings, play the Netherlands in a friendly on November 20 in Gelsenkirchen.
