Argentina win as expected, China spring surprise on USA
The FIFA World Youth Championship Argentina 2001 kicked off on 17 June with an emotional opening ceremony at the Vélez Sarsfield Stadium in Buenos Aires and a 2-0 victory for hosts Argentina over Finland. Maximiliano Rodríguez, in the first half, and Andrés D'Alessandro, in the second half, scored the goals for Argentina, whose next game will be on Wednesday, 20 June, against Egypt, who drew 0-0 against Jamaica. 18-Jun-2001
