KUALA LUMPUR, June 27 (Reuters) - Malaysia national coach Allan Harris has had his contract with the Football Association of Malaysia extended for one year.

The Englishman, who worked with Terry Venables at Barcelona, coaches both the Malaysia national team and the under-23 side.

He has guided the Malaysian under-23s into the semifinals of the Merdeka Cup tournament being played in Kuala Lumpur.

"He has done a good job so far," FAM deputy president Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah said on the federation's official website.

"The technical committee has recommended to the council that his contract be extended." Harris will coach Malaysia at this year's South East Asian Games, to be staged in Kuala Lumpur.
