Hadji back in Morocco squad for World Cup qualifier

CASABLANCA, June 25 (Reuters) - Former African Footballer of the Year Mustapha Hadji was named on Monday in Morocco's squad for a World Cup qualifier against Egypt after missing their last three matches.

Hadji walked out on the Moroccan team last month in a row over club versus country commitments.

The midfielder chose to play for Coventry City in their penultimate English premier league match, in a vain bid to avoid relegation, spurning a World Cup qualifier against Algeria. He has since missed Morocco's last two African Nations Cup qualifiers, in Kenya and at home to Gabon.

But he has now been named in coach Humberto Coelho's 24-man squad for the home game on Saturday.

The squad list also sees the return of captain Noureddine Naybet, who withdrew from the last two games in order to finish the Spanish season with Deportivo Coruna. Morroco lead group C by three points over Senegal and Egypt, with the Egyptians having a game in hand. Saturday's qualifier is seen as key to the outcome of the group.
