Spain finalise World Cup preparation details

MADRID, Jan 30 (Reuters) - Spain coach Jose Antonio Camacho will announce his World Cup squad on May 13, a week before the team leaves for their training base in South Korea, the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) said on Wednesday.

The RFEF also announced that the squad will begin pre-tournament training in Spain on May 15, the same day as the Champions League final in Glasgow.

If Real Madrid or Deportivo Coruna reach the final the players involved will join the rest of the squad later in the week.

The squad will travel to South Korea on May 20, where players will be based at the Seobu Training Centre in Ulsan for the first phase group matches against Slovenia, Paraguay and South Africa.

As part of their preparations for the tournament, Spain will play three friendly matches. They meet fellow World Cup qualifiers Portugal in Barcelona on February 13, then travel to Rotterdam to play the Netherlands on March 27.

Their final preparation match is against Northern Ireland in Belfast on April 4, a team they will also meet in the qualification stages for Euro 2004.
