SEVILLE, Spain, Oct 7 (Reuters) - Sevilla have promised to take immediate action against a supporter who ran on to the field and tried to assault Real Betis keeper Toni Prats during Sunday's league derby.
Spain's Football Federation, the RFEF, will investigate incidents at the match after television pictures also showed a security guard being attacked by a fan.
Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido said after the game that he regretted the incidents but insisted the club had done everything they could to avoid problems.
"I don't believe the stadium will be closed (by the RFEF) because the club and the local government representative did everything to make sure nothing happened," Del Nido said in a statement. "The individual that ran out on to the field has already been identified and he will be expelled from the club."
The fan ran on to the field inside the first 10 minutes of a match that finished 1-1. He made straight for Prats, trying to jump on to his back, but he was shaken off immediately before being led away by security guards.
