PARIS, Jan 29 (Reuters) - France manager Roger Lemerre could stay at the helm of the world and European champions until 2004, French soccer federation president Claude Simonet said.
"For the time being, Roger Lemerre has brought us only satisfactions. His future belongs to him," Simonet told France Football magazine.
"I know that he is motivated by strong ambitions for the 2002 World Cup.
"I have the impression that he likes the job and since I will remain president of the French federation until 2004,
maybe he will feel like staying with me until the European championship," Simonet added. Lemerre took over from Aime Jacquet after the 1998 World Cup.
