Blanc calls for charity match for flood victims

PARIS, Sept 30 (Reuters) - Manchester United defender Laurent Blanc has called for a charity match between the France team who won the FIFA World Cup" in 1998 and a selection from south-western France to help the victims of floods in the area.

"I'm calling for a match to be organised for the victims, between the 1998 French team and a selection of players from south-western France," Blanc told the French daily l'Equipe.

Twenty-three people died in the floods which followed heavy storms three weeks ago.
