BUCHAREST, Oct 3 (Reuters) - Romania will host Israel's European 2004 qualifier against Cyprus on October 16, a Romanian Football Federation (FRF) official said on Thursday.
UEFA has ordered Israeli clubs and the national team to play home matches at neutral venues until security situation improves.
FRF general secretary Adalbert Kassay told Reuters the game would be played at the 60,000 seater Lia Manoliu stadium.
"Israeli Football officials will arrive in Bucharest on Monday to establish all the details linked to the organisation of the match," he said.
The game will be Israel's first in group one qualifying. Cyprus have already lost to France in their opener.
Champions League representatives Maccabi Haifa are playing their home group matches in Cyprus. UEFA Cup hopefuls Hapoel Tel Aviv and Maccabi Tel Aviv have opted for Sofia.
