Werder Bremen's Borowski gets call-up to Germany squad

BERLIN, Oct 4 (Reuters) - Werder Bremen's Tim Borowski looks set to make his debut for Germany after being named in Rudi Voeller's squad for next week's friendly international against Bosnia and a Euro 2004 qualifier against the Faroe Islands.
The 22-year-old midfielder was the only newcomer in the 22-man squad named on Friday by coach Voeller for the friendly in Sarajevo on October 11 and the group five fixture against the Faroe Islands in Hanover five days later.
Defenders Christian Woerns and Marko Rehmer both return from lengthy injury layoffs.
Squad:

Defenders: Arne Friedrich, Marko Rehmer (both Hertha Berlin), Ingo Hertzsch (Hamburg SV), Sebastian Kehl, Christoph Metzelder, Christian Woerns (all Borussia Dortmund), Carsten Ramelow (Bayer Leverkusen).
Midfielders: Michael Ballack, Jens Jeremies (both Bayern Munich), Tim Borowski, Fabian Ernst (both Werder Bremen), Torsten Frings (Borussia Dortmund), Dietmar Hamann (Liverpool), Bernd Schneider (Bayer Leverkusen).
Strikers: Gerald Asamoah (Schalke 04), Paul Freier (VfL Bochum), Carsten Jancker (Udinese), Miroslav Klose (Kaiserslautern), Oliver Neuville (Bayer Leverkusen), Alexander Zickler (Bayern Munich).
