MILAN, Jan 20 (Reuters) - Fiorentina striker Adriano says he is aiming for a World Cup call-up for Brazil after grabbing a last-minute equaliser for the second week running in Serie A.
The 19-year-old forward earned Fiorentina a 1-1 draw against AC Milan with a well-taken goal in the final seconds of their Italian first division match on Sunday.
"My aim is to get to the World Cup with Brazil but, to do that, I need to work every day and play a lot of football," the Brazilian told Italian television.
Adriano, on loan from Inter Milan, also scored in the dying moments of his debut for the Florence side against Chievo last week to secure a 2-2 draw.
The striker, who moved to Inter from Flamengo in the off-season, has made one appearance for Brazil but was a regular in his country's under-20 side.
Although Adriano made a good impression at Inter, he found it hard to break into the side due to competition from the likes of Christian Vieri, Mohammed Kallon and twice World Player of the Year Ronaldo.
"It is not easy coming from a good team like Inter to one that is struggling like Fiorentina but I want to help as much as I can by getting a lot of goals," said the Brazilian.
Inter striker Vieri said he was pleased to see Adriano fitting in well in Florence.
"I am not surprised about his form - he is a really strong player and he has shown that with these two goals.
"The club has made a smart move sending him to Fiorentina because there he has the chance to play and develop further," said the Italy striker.
